Miku is an intelligent, brave, caring young woman who has proven her resilience by not only surviving the tragic events that make up her life but finding a way to grow and flourish amidst the sadness. After their parents death it was up to her older brother to take care of them both and, in order to help him, Miku took over all household related work and made sure to make their house a home. Thanks to that experience she learned how to cook, clean, and decorate.
When Mafuyu died and Miku was taken in by her brother’s friend Yuu then she did the same for him and his fiancé, but never asserted herself fully since it was not her home. This changed when Yuu died and Rei went into mourning, depression taking hold. In order to help, Miku took over the household chores and cared for Rei, making sure to present a positive outlook and slightly cheerful demeanor while hiding her own worries. In order to help further Miku also started working as Rei’s assistant, researching places, people, and things which related to Rei’s photo shoots and eventually which were related to the odd dreams both women experienced.
Unfortunately, despite her many strengths she has many weaknesses as well. She is still scarred by the events of her past. While she is caring and cheerful around her friends Miku still has moments of shyness, never sharing more information on her personal life than necessary, and scared that both her past and sixth sense sets her apart from others. Her caring nature is a fault of its own, causing her to worry and, in a more extreme case, it was her worry mixing with her sixth sense which led her to Himuro Mansion when her brother was away for too long. She also has a habit of placing others before herself so often that it is hard to tell that she is experiencing troubles of her own. Despite spending so much time living together Rei did not know the details of Miku’s past and she did not learn that Miku was experiencing the Curse of the Tattoo until she appeared in Miku’s dream.
Abilities: Miku has a peculiar sort of sixth sense which she tends not to advertise. She experiences odd feelings of foreboding and has a heightened sense of intuition. Her sixth sense allows her to see things that others normally would not see, especially of a spiritual manner. In her canon this means that she can sees ghosts without the Camera Obscura and, when in a place where something emotional has happened or touching something which has a supernatural imprint on it, she sees scenes of the past as if she were there, although the scenes are in Black and White with can sometimes have a fuzziness about them.

[A young woman’s face follows the soft question and she seems to be regarding the illusion with a degree is mistrust. There is a moment of silence as her eyes flicker back and forth, taking in what is happening before her expression smoothes out, soon replaced by a polite little smile. ]
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kumi and I will be working here from this day on. Please treat me with kindness.
[She inclines her head in a small bow.]

By the time Monday had arrived Kumi’s muscles were aching, her body crying out for rest and yet she found that sleep eluded her, leaving her to stare at the ceiling of a room she shared with three other girls. Most nights she would try to fall asleep before them since it was no use trying to fall asleep in the symphony of sounds her roommates made as they slept. Every movement echoed through the room, the boards creaking under them as they shifted, and the occasional snore tore through the air. Sometimes it was loud enough to wake her up in the middle of the night and she could not return to sleep afterward. Unfortunately she had worked a little longer than usual and by the time she returned to their shared room the girls were already asleep.
Kumi sighed softly as she pulled her blanket up to cover her face, wishing it was a noise barrier. She would never say anything to the girls, knowing they could not control their bodies when they slept, but she was so very tired. Once more she shut her eyelids and relaxed her sore muscles, starting the familiar process of trying to calm both body and mind to sleep. The tension drained away from each limb and a peaceful smile tugged at her lips as a dreamless sleep finally claimed her.
