Canon point: Before chasing Mafuyu while under the Tattoo Curse
Totem: Miku's totem will be her hair clip. During a fissure it will become slightly heavier and the pattern will become reversed with the flowers on the left side and the moon on the right side.
Weapons: Miku does not carry any real weapons but she does have the Camera Obscura. The Camera Obscura's powers lay in its ability to see things that the unseen eye misses such as ghosts and it is able to exorcise spirits by special films. Miku also carries a variety of film: Type-07 is the weakest (10 of these), Type 14 is slightly more powerful (5 of these), Type-61 (2 of these) and Type-90 is the ultimate film (Only 1). This 'weapon' would not be able to have any effect on those in Limbo.
Abilities/powers: Miku has a strong sixth sense. This means she often experiences feelings of foreboding about a place or person, though she will not be able to place why she feels this way beyond intuition. Her sixth sense also allows her to receive impressions of places with a lot of history and where there have been a large amount of intense emotions. When this happens she is able to see visions of events linked to the place or object but it is very fuzzy, like static on TV, and black and white. Note: Miku will not have this ability in limbo.
Location: Rope Hallway that leads into the Fish Tank room which ends in the Doll Room.
Somehow, after going through a door, you find yourself in a long, dark hallway which has ropes hanging down from the beams above, ropes which occasionally swing back and forth as if there is wind blowing them. At the end of the hallway is a large mirror with dirt around the edges.
You move down the hallway and turn to open the only working door to the right which leads into the Fish Tank room, a very dark room which has stone blocks rising up from the waters, wooden planks connecting the stone blocks and fish nets hanging from the ceiling beams. While it once held fish there is now nothing there but a passage to another room. Occasionally a drip can be heard and, if you look at just the right time, it seems the drop of water is actually a small puddle of blood. As quickly as you look it fades away. Once you leave through the opposite door to the hallway you find yourself in the last room, a room entirely devoted to a doll display. This is the doll room where traditional Japanese dolls are set upon a wooden display that spans the entire wall. If you walk close to one doll at the end its head will roll off onto the floor. Upon leaving and coming back the head is back on, a trick of the imagination perhaps?
Personality: Miku is an intelligent, brave, caring young woman who has proven her resilience by not only surviving the tragic events that make up her life but finding a way to grow and flourish amidst the sadness. After their parents death it was up to her older brother to take care of them both and, in order to help him, Miku took over all household related work and made sure to make their house a home. Thanks to that experience she learned how to cook, clean, and decorate.
When Mafuyu died and Miku was taken in by her brother’s friend Yuu then she did the same for him and his fiancé, but never asserted herself fully since it was not her home. This changed when Yuu died and Rei went into mourning, depression taking hold. In order to help, Miku took over the household chores and cared for Rei, making sure to present a positive outlook and slightly cheerful demeanor while hiding her own worries. In order to help further Miku also started working as Rei’s assistant, researching places, people, and things which related to Rei’s photo shoots and eventually which were related to the odd dreams both women experienced.
Unfortunately, despite her many strengths she has many weaknesses as well. She is still scarred by the events of her past. While she is caring and cheerful around her friends Miku still has moments of shyness, never sharing more information on her personal life than necessary, and scared that both her past and sixth sense sets her apart from others. Her caring nature is a fault of its own, causing her to worry and, in a more extreme case, it was her worry mixing with her sixth sense which led her to Himuro Mansion when her brother was away for too long. She also has a habit of placing others before herself so often that it is hard to tell that she is experiencing troubles of her own. Despite spending so much time living together Rei did not know the details of Miku’s past and she did not learn that Miku was experiencing the Curse of the Tattoo until she appeared in Miku’s dream.
In Limbo Miku will probably continue to be her shy self, exploring the area by herself for the most part in the beginning so she can properly understand her current situation and may appear sad and frightened, mostly due to believing she was going to die due to her curse before arriving in Limbo. With events and conversations she may gradually open up and make friends but even then she will continue to hold herself back, hiding most of her past behind a polite, friendly smile. She would worry over her friends and try to make herself useful to them.
Since Limbo has experienced some events with the Manor of Sleep she will likely spend some time panicking, especially if others talk about the ghosts they encounter. This may cause her to open up somewhat but she will still try to keep some information about herself reserved. If she finds out there are people with photos she may volunteer to help them process them, if still needed, and would likely explain the history attached if they would like to know.
Throughout her time in Limbo Miku will still worry over Rei and hope that her friend is doing well without her.
History: Her History
Miku is a polite, soft-spoken 19 year old with a sixth sense and who has had an entire life filled with very bad luck starting from a young age. Her father went missing on assignment and it was Miku who discovered her mother hanging, driven mad by the Camera Obscura. After that it was her and Mafuyu, her older brother, against the world. Due to her sixth sense Miku became a shy girl who clung to her brother. Unfortunately Mafuyu was the next to go missing but this time Miku followed him, searching a haunted mansion and determined to bring him back.
It never happened the way she had hoped. Mafuyu had been taken by the spirit of Kirie and he chose to stay by her side. As the Himuro Mansion fell apart Miku had to escape alone and after that her sixth sense faded away.
Miku finished up her schooling while living with her brother’s friend Yuu Asou and eventually became an assistant to Yuu’s fiance, Rei. When Yuu died in a car crash Miku was the one who took over care of the house and Rei. It was Miku who did the cleaning, organizing and tried to cheer the depressed Rei up.
Unfortunately tragedy struck once more. After going on a photo assignment with Rei, to a supposedly haunted house, her sixth sense returned. Miku started to have dreams of a manor where it was always snowing and horrible rituals had been performed. During the day Miku would do research on the articles and photos that Rei asked her to, cleaning in her spare time, but every night she chased the illusion of her brother through the Manor of Sleep, pleading for him to forgive her and come back. Due to chasing down a spirit of the dead Miku fell victim to the Tattoo Curse. With each night the tattoo spread more and more, consuming her body just like the guilt she felt for surviving when her brother died.
Miku comes from her final night when the red tattoo has spread all over her body. In Limbo the tattoo will not always be apparent, only showing up when she feels intense emotions.

[The network turns on to show a young Asian woman regarding the camera and her expression is a mix of worry, confusion and fear. Her eyes are slowly moving, possibly taking in the appearance of the communication device, and finally she speaks in a timid voice.]
Can anyone hear this?
[She sounds a little frightened as she lifts her head to glance backwards at the sunny beach area. The device is pulled back to show her better. Her shoulders are slightly hunched and she has a hand on her chest as she regards the distance warily.]
If anyone can hear this, I’m-I’m lost.
[Miku takes a deep breath, straightening up. She can do this. She has to keep moving so she does just that, her steps slow and cautious. This time she does not bother to look at the camera when she speaks.]
I see buildings nearby. Is anybody there? [Her eyes flick down as she makes her plea.] I need to know, where am I? I need to go back. Please. If you’re there, please answer me.
